Echo is a modern interpretation of a nightstand. To the unsuspecting viewer Echo appears to defy gravity by balancing on only one side. The use of LG Hi-Macs Spectrum series allowed the form to follow a smooth graceful curve and provided a color palette suitable for any environment. Echo’s form created the opportunity for a balance between both private and public storage. The open area is meant to store your latest magazine or that book you cannot put down. Its name is in reference to how a sound wave is returned to the sender in an equal but opposite orientation. Echo is installed by mounting a simple metal bracket to the wall and sliding it into position. Echo is constructed from a linear piece of LG Hi-Macs Spectrum series that is approximately 81” x 13”. The piece is then thermoformed and trimmed to its final shape. The groove that accepts the bracket is routed out next on the appropriate side which is determined by the side of the bed the table is to be placed. The drawer guide is an additional strip that is clamped and adhered to the form after it is thermoformed. The drawer is constructed from three individual pieces that are adhered together creating a seamless appearance. The accepting groove and hand pull are routed out before the pieces are joined.

Mike, your tables are squinting at me. Also they are making me slightly hungry... Cool form, definately takes on the balance challenge. Like the two-tone colors. Would be nice if you state somewhere that it bolts into the wall... or even better draw a diagram (I didn't notice the fastener on the exploded diagram until I looked at this a few times). I am slow and at first I was like "how on earth does that stand up?" which in the end I guess is actually what you want!
