The circle has embodied the ideologies of balance, harmony, and unity since the ancient world. Recognized as a symbol of idealism, the circle symbolizes a balance between opposing forces and influences. krik/Os exploits these interpretations through its design. The laying surface is based upon individual circle units, in which the LG HI-MACS material has been designed to demonstrate the dramatic capabilities of the product as formed into hemispheres with hydraulic pressure. These hemispheres unite with a seamless black color band and a slightly curved upper surface. These formations produce a balance between material, form, and function within kirk/Os. Furthermore, the circle is utilized as base and frame supports to balance all of the structure, while krik/Os itself is an exhibit of balance when utilized by a person.

I also wanted to point out the two red semicircles holding the "cushion" structure up tie the piece together and contrast the black circles at the base. The juxtaposition of the semicircular structures in 3 different angles in space is interesting and catches the eye. This designer really played the color scheme and conformation of the components in space to the max. Great work. Jan 26 2009 | 01:01 am

Neat how it's a futuristic looking hammock, but also has history with the circle. Great design and really thoughtful consideration of the engineering aspects ie hydraulic pressure/balance. Voted for this project over the others. I'd like to have one of these! Jan 25 2009 | 09:34 pm

Wow, this is definitely one of my favorites on the site. I think you have a very nice use of shading and color, and the layout is aesthetically pleasing. Very nice project. Very interesting explanation of symbolism and shape. ![[image]](../_images/_elements/frame_projectphoto.png)
