The idea balance strikes me as being about duality. There is an active component to the idea of balance. This active component is reflected in the bold forward thrust of the design. The idea for the stool came from the idea of a volume balanced upon much thinner linear members. Like a person perched on a bar stool. The LG HI-MACS surface allowed for the creation of an elegant and solid mass that was then set upon the thin metal supports. A great benefit to the designer is the durability, smooth lines and lack of seams.

This is quite an interesting idea. Even though it is still in the planning stages, How well does it conform to the body's natural position? Is there a place to put your feet, analogous the rungs on other stools, or do the user's feet rest upon the ground?
